It's hard to overstate the dedication required to get up in the middle of the cold, dark night to spend a fourth entire day running across England. 👟

I will probably never have this strength of character, but @officehippy does.

Still running. 👏

An interesting perspective here and definitely something to think about as you’re plodding along at 13 minutes per mile.

❝As with training frequency, there’s nothing stopping slower runners from fueling scientifically and reaping the rewards—nothing other than self-disqualification, that is.

An easy run of an hour would have become a 10km pb. That seemed very unlikely to me and it was. My Garmin Fenix 7 appeared to be off track again and had calculated 2km longer than the actual distance 😞
An export / import of the GPX recovered the distance but I become more and more disappointed with Garmin. Crashes, wrong distance, there always seems to be something wrong nowadays.

I managed to find 1000m of elevation gain on my local trails, without any hill reps or retracing my steps. Super slow pace - goal was to run the downhills hard to condition my legs for Eryri descents, then keep the rest in zone 2, so I walked a lot of the climbs.

Training plan here is following Koop's "four disciplines of ultra running", namely hiking, flat running, uphill running, and downhill running. I'm making sure I get a good spread of each.
