Neben Amsel und Star nehmen auch Singdrosseln (Turdus philomelos) am Efeubeerenbuffett Platz.

Da könnte ich glatt das altbekannte Kinderlied anstimmen

Auf dem Foto sieht man ein Amselweibchen an einem kleinen Tümpel auf der Suche nach Nistmaterial. Der Schnabel ist schon ziemlich voll mit feuchtem Moos und anderen Pflanzenresten, mit dem die Nestmulde verstärkt wird. Im Hintergrund sieht man Efeu von oben herab ranken.

Turdus iliacus (Redwing / Rotdrossel)

These birds come to our region in Germany only in Winter, when it is too cold for them Scandinavia and other parts of Northern Europe, where they breed.

A smallish thrush with mostly brown plumage. The belly is white with brown speckles, a white stripe goes from the beak over the eye to the back of its head. Under the wing is an orange-red stripe, which gives it its name. The bird is perched on a bush with red berries.

The same bird is now seen as it holds one of the berries in its beak.
