Acadian Flycatcher

It’s been quite some time since I captured a photo of a bird that’s ‘new to me.’ This morning, however, an Acadian Flycatcher (Empidonax virescens) made an appearance while Charlie and I were sitting in the backyard. I see the occasional flycatcher, but this was my first encounter with an Acadian. These birds don’t come for birdseed; instead, they seem to be searching for something in the trees or maybe just curious about the gathering of birds nearby.

The photographs I share here aren't as vivid as those in my Pixel gallery. To ensure they load more quickly, I reduce their size and slightly lower their quality. Feel free to take a look!

Good morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun 🌞 I'm up with the parrots today and have just finished an extra cuddly Ziggy cuddle session. She finally took her medication today when I realised that she has been objecting to having it fed to her by my right hand and having to sit on my left arm to reach it. I figured this out, because she was nipping my left arm pretty hard and giving me side-eye. So I switched to my left hand with her on my right, and she took it no bother. Sometimes this human can be a bit dim and take a while to work out dinosaur language, but I get there eventually 😂

I had a crochet order come in last night, so I'll start on that today and also package up the competition toy for it's journey. Speaking of which, my "Another trip around the Sun" day is coming up soon and I'll be running a new competition to celebrate. Watch this space!

Have a lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗
