After #negotiations have stalled for weeks, #strike appears imminent for frustrated union workers at #KingSoopers #grocerystore chain in #Colorado. Mgmt has accused Kim Cordova, president of the United Food and Commercial #Workers Local 7, of bargaining in bad faith 

The #UFCW is still in contract negotiations with #Albertsons, which owns #Safeway.

Oakville Grocery

Just about everyone that has driven through the valley has driven past the Oakville Grocery store. Most have probably stopped in at one time. It sits on the east side of highway 128 about halfway between the city of Napa and the town of Calistoga.
The building is in my eyes an iconic image of Napa Valley. This is another of my favorite places to shoot.

Oakville Grocery On the side of Highway 29 in beautiful Napa Valley is the fabulous Oakville Grocery store. This landmark store dates back to 1874. The front of the store has a porch supported by wood pillars. In front of the porch are four wine barrels being used as planters have nice green plants growing in them. The store is painted with a very light brown/tan with green trim. The roof is a red tile roof. On the side of the store is a large Coca-Cola advertisement just below the Oakville Grocery sign. Above the store you can see a tall redwood tree that is on the other side of the store.

Massive #GroceryStore Chain Merger That Irked Courts, Is Off After Being Blocked By Federal Judges, Now The Army Of #Lawyers From One Jilted Party Are Suing The Other Proposed Partners In #Supermarket #Lawfare... One side is alleging a willful breach of contract saying other party was not doing enough to win regulatory approval for the #merger.

In The Works Since Announced In 2022, The Proposed #Merger Would Have Involved #Kroger who also operates as Fred Meyer and #QFC, as well as #Albertsons parent corp of #Safeway. Tens of thousands of #unionworkers would've been affected. Kroger, in a statement in response, said Albertsons is deflecting its own responsibility.

Inside the Red Head's Head

Given that today is one day after having a covid vaccine booster shot and I am feeling sick and achy and awful all over, it should have been obvious that today would be the single busiest day at the grocery store that the human race has ever seen. I’m pretty sure I got the last open parking space in the entire strip mall lot. What a mess. My head is pounding now and my whole body hurts and waaaaaaah, waaaaaaah, waaaaaaah, I feel like such a great big middle aged baby.
