The more creepy parts of the house are the basement and upper floors. Where there is evident decay. #fontHill #haunted #tasmania #Architecture

In the basement. The founding stones are still sound. Even the flag stones are mostly intact. It’s quite dry here, a doorway leads into another part of the basement. It’s dark there. The plumbing pipes run along the top of the basement through the doorway.

An old timber chair in a corner. The floor is a mess of vermin droppings and old red carpet. Pressed tin roof. A metal bar runs above the chair making a triangle in the corner.

And old timber bed or cot in a corner. No mattress. This is the attic, the servants quarters. It was totally dark up there. The walls are horizontal timber boards.

The upstairs stairs case looking down. Paint is peeling on the ceiling. There is another staircase to the right that goes to the attic. The lading has a skinny vertical window with a curtain pushed to one side. Wallpaper is the same beige with light brown patterns.

Up the hill the old homestead looks over the farm and the shearer’s quarters. The old house has creepy vibes because people’s clothes are hanging in closets, food is still in the pantry and family photos are on the walls but the house is uninhabited. Except for maybe rats. It’s as if they didn’t move out. But
