Senator Mehreen Faruqi, deputy leader of the Australian Greens and spokesperson for higher education spoke out against the latest #Dutton #LNP electioneering fluff (you cannot call brainfarts a policy) and managed to shame #Labor ‘s inaction on #SocialHousing for good measure:

“The facts are clear, we’ve seen the evidence: international students are not the cause of skyrocketing rents or unaffordable housing. That responsibility lies squarely with successive governments who have refused to build enough public housing and prioritised lining the pockets of wealthy property investors.”

@joannejacobs
All of which, of course, reinforces the view that #Dutton ‘s nuclear power generation is nothing but a smokescreen to slow/stop green/renewable energy dev. It’s as obvious as the nose on one’s face - why the electorate chooses to ignore it is incomprehensible and delusional at best.

@michcampbell I think that this point is pretty clear “It may speak to unspoken issues that they have with immigration or same-sex marriage, or if they think that feminism has gone too far”. Dutton’s ‘Woke’ is dog whistling to anyone who has a grievance but it’s not the same grievance. He can’t articulate what he means because there is no agreement and he would loose more votes than he gains.
