In advance of tomorrow's awfulness, I want to do the for today:
1. I saw A Complete Unknown & was blown away. It made me grateful to be alive while is and thankful to my brother, who introduced me to Dylan's music when I was 13. 51 years in, I've never recovered.
2. My dog Scout, proud member of the .
3. The watchmaker who fixed the Hamilton watch that another jeweler said couldn't be fixed. It was an anniversary gift from my dear partner 30 years ago.

@Jason844

That's a good idea. Thank you. I'll edit now.

@CindyWeinstein I really liked the Bob Dylan movie too! I couldn't believe all the actors did all the performances!!

@Jennifer

I'm glad you agree. Those performances were astonishing.

@CindyWeinstein while I was watching it I thought they must have done some audio manipulation because the performances were so good. But we watched the credits and it said all performances were by the actors. Then I watched some interviews with all of them about how they learned to both sing and play instruments. There are some videos of Timothy Chalamet practicing guitar and singing while in costume iyn the Dune set 😂 I was even more impressed to learn they did it all themselves.

@Jennifer

Same! I stuck around for the credits and was completely blown away!

@libramoon @Jennifer

Yes! Thank you. I've seen it but maybe after seeing A Complete Unknown, I should rewatch.

@CindyWeinstein 1. I rally loved the movie too. Been a Dylan fan since my sister recommended him to me in 1965 or so.

2. My father's Hamilton square-face, which he bought in '57 and gave to me in '70, has been at the watchmaker's for 3 years now, but I'm still hopeful.

Small world....

@12thRITS

3 years! I should say when I first brought it to someone, that person was a jeweler and not a watchmaker so I was told the watch was kaput. I decided to try another place and it worked! The guy make it work (and it was just a battery thing; the first jeweler didn't wipe some acid that had gotten onto the gizmo).

Maybe try another watchmaker?

@CindyWeinstein This is a parts issue, I'm told. It's a mechanical watch, no batteries at all. He's fixed it before

@12thRITS

Ahhh. fingers crossed that it gets fixed before too much time (hah!) passes.
