In #Australia, female #woolworths #homeshop drivers use a trolley and make one trip. The males ignore the trolley, spend ages inside the truck unpacking tubs and piling bags near the door. They load up like pack mules, struggle to carry the loads, break the paper bags and drop stuff, and usually need multiple trips. Easily take 3x longer than the women. It's a macho disease and it's no wonder delivery schedules slip. Probably all think "more efficient". We men can be such dimwits.

A new report finds groceries are getting more expensive at Woolworths but cheaper at Coles. The Choice price tracker shows the cost of shopping at Aldi barely changed between March and December 2024 in a quarterly assessment of 14 common items. #GroceryPrices #CostOfLiving #Woolworths #Coles #Aldi #PriceTracker #SupermarketWars #Australia

The Guardian · Groceries are getting more expensive at Woolworths but cheaper at Coles, report findsBy Catie McLeod

Sigh. My #Woolworths order is now 4 hours late.

After spending 45 minutes to talk to their “help line” - I was put on hold while 15 minutes later they came back with,”it should be there in around 2 more hours!”

6 hours later. I’ve just ordered pizza.

Tonight’s supposed dinner might end up as tomorrows - if the ingredients arrive.

Uh-oh! I think it might be my fault 😱

I've been force-stopping the Woolworths Rewards app, after I discovered that it was generating literally hundreds of thousands of tracking attempts! Orders of magnitude worse than any other app on my phone!

So, the loss of the firehose of all my most personal data has obviously had serious consequences.

Waiting on a #Woolworths #delivery. What time it actually gets here, decides what’s for #dinner tonight.

It’s a little like a “wheel of meal” game show.

“Your delivery arrived at 6:45 instead of 3:30 so for dinner tonight you’ll be eating….”

I don’t want to be doing a roast for tonight starting at, say 7:30.

My fallback will probably be some lamb mince on a burger roll.

Coles, Woolworths, Costco and Kmart have all backed an application to scrap overtime and penalty rates.

Peter Dutton has consistently voted to get rid of Sunday and public holidays penalty rates.

The opposition are trying to sneak this in through the back door while we’re all distracted.

A Liberal/National party government is NO FRIEND to the average Australian worker. Don’t let them fool you, speak up, post about this, join your union!

Legal/Illegal Song*
It’s legal to join a trade union,
And to picket is one of your rights.
But don’t be offensive when scabs cross the line;
Be nice to the coppers, and keep this in mind:
To picket effectively, that is a crime
Worse than if you had murdered your mother! (1978)
