Winter 2024-25 was exceptionally warm in the Arctic. In fact, it was the mildest December through February on record in ERA5 reanalysis courtesy of ECMWF/Copernicus. Nearly 95% of lands and seas north of 60ºN latitude had an average temperature above the 1991-2020 baseline normal.
