click.actionnetwork.orgTell the Senate: REJECT the anti-voter SAVE ActThe House of Representatives has passed the SAVE Act – a cruel, calculated attack on every American’s right to vote. It’s designed to effectively block millions of eligible Americans from casting a ballot – especially women, seniors, students, and rural voters. I just signed a Common Cause petition urging the Senate to REJECT the dangerous SAVE Act – and I hope that you will, too.
click.actionnetwork.orgTell Congress: Don’t fund Trump’s Guantánamo Bay immigrant prison! Details are still emerging, but Trump and his allies are quickly working to revive Guantánamo’s shameful legacy with an unprecedented effort to imprison tens of thousands of people on the island. The New York Times reports that migrants are already being housed in the same prison that once held individuals accused of being members of Al Qaeda. The very idea that facilities synonymous with torture could be used to detain people fleeing incredible violence and political instability is abhorrent. The potential for trauma, corruption, and human rights violations is sky-high. This plan is more than cruel and likely illegal. It will also be extraordinarily expensive. Maintaining Guantánamo already costs hundreds of millions of dollars per year, and expanding it to imprison immigrants would likely cost taxpayers hundreds of millions more. Every lawmaker who claims to care about “fiscal responsibility” or “American values” should be outraged -- that’s why, with your help, we’ll make enough noise to turn outrage into action. Right now, as Congress puts the final touches on a bill to keep the government open past March 14, we have a critical and urgent opportunity to push them to deny ANY money to pay for immigration detention at Guantánamo Bay. To members of the 119th House of Representatives: Taxpayer dollars should not be used to expand or support immigrant detention. I urge you to take immediate action to refuse and block funding for the detention of immigrants at Guantánamo Bay.

click.actionnetwork.orgSign to support Rashida Tlaib’s Stop Politicians Profiting From War Act Between 2019 and 2021, 97 members of Congress or their family members invested in weapons contractor stocks, and 25 of them sat on committees directly responsible for shaping national security policy while they traded and profited off those stocks. This is unacceptable corruption, which incentivizes lawmakers to push for military aggression rather than diplomacy. Members of Congress were elected to serve the public, not to serve their stock portfolios. They shouldn’t be able to use their positions of power to get rich while voting to pass more funding to bomb innocent civilians. Their constituents sent them to Congress to invest in life and in everyday working people, not in death and endless war. But each year, the majority of Congresspeople pass record-breaking military budgets, sending nearly $1 trillion each year to the U.S. Department of Defense (housed in the Pentagon)—which has failed to pass an audit for six years in a row, and which allocates around half its annual budget directly to for-profit military contractors. Rep. Rashida Tlaib introduced the Stop Politicians Profiting from War Act to prohibit members of Congress, their spouses, and their dependent children from having any financial interests in corporations that do business with the U.S. Department of Defense—including banning members from trading defense stocks. Please add your name to show your support for Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s Stop Politicians Profiting from War Act to ban members of Congress from profiting off of endless war.
click.actionnetwork.orgTell Congress: Defend the CFPB Elon Musk has declared war on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). He tweeted “CFPB R.I.P.” because he and Wall Street’s worst actors are pushing House Republicans to dismantle the agency. This isn’t just talk. Some House Republicans are moving right now to gut the CFPB’s funding and block its enforcement powers. If they succeed, financial predators will have free rein to rip off working people with zero consequences. Banks will be free to hike fees, discriminate against Black and Brown communities, and target vulnerable consumers with abusive loans. Abusive credit card fees will proliferate, while Wall Street executives rake in record profits. The CFPB is the only agency that exists to stop this and it will be powerless to act. This is exactly what Wall Street and Musk’s billionaire allies want. They couldn’t kill the CFPB outright, so now they want to starve it from the inside, cutting off enforcement and rolling back consumer protections. Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Wall Street want a system where they win, and everyone else loses. Congress has a choice: stand with consumers or side with Musk and financial predators. We have prewritten text targeted for Democrats, swing-district Republicans, and another for other Republicans which you can edit or send as is. Click ‘START WRITING’ to send your direct message demanding your U.S. House representative defend the CFPB, not dismantle it -- and protect consumers immediately by keeping Elon Musk's hands off now.
