If you'd like to speedrun Sworn, Livesplit now has an up-to-date autosplitter made by yours truly.
I spent most of my free time this week digging into how to write scripts for LiveSplit and finding the values I was looking for in Sworn, which is based off Unity.
I'm thinking of writing down some doc on how I did it using CheatEngine and UnityExplorer then make it available online in case anyone else wants to do the same but I haven't had a blog in years and don't really feel like having one again.
Does anyone has advice on how to share this doc? Preferably in a non-enshittifiable way.
Summoning Salt released a video about the early years of speedrunning Super Mario 64 in the 120 star category.
For this legacy he decided to split the history into several videos, so this is only the beginning and there is more to come in the future...

"The actual boss-flag value to get to Ook is 3 or more, and the reset [...] set the value somewhere in the 30s or 40s, so I'll even have some boss-flag left over for later which is why I always have Tupperware handy when running 100%"
Not only is this commented 100% #speedrun of #Zelda #TwilightPrincess incredibly comfy, it's also dead-pan funny. Highly recommended, even if you only listen to it in the background!
Yes, the renewed analog sticks brought the new PB.
One month after I started derusting I broke my 1½ years old record in the Any% Glitchless category of Metroid Dread by nearly half a minute live in the Fediverse.
The first half of the run went so bad but then the usual runkiller tricks worked flawlessly and the pace began, leading to two gold splits and a new Personal Best of 1h 37m 13s.
Now live on self-hosted Owncast
Metroid Dread (Switch) - Any% Glitchless
Let's see if the renewed analog sticks bring the new PB.
Just watched a video where some madlad archieved a mario bros 3 tas in a couple microseconds by inventing a completly new form of #TAS : the cartidgeswapping tas, where they simply swapped the cartridge with CPU cycle pricision to write code into the #NES console! Just awesome what we can achieve when we just try hard enough xDDDD
... And it got me thinking to maybe attempt something similar for either the #SNES or #N64 lmao!
I just did what I couldn't manage yesterday due to time constraints: Replacing the analog sticks of my PS3 controller I use for speedrunning Metroid Dread.
The old ones were worn out. The new ones are also used but offer much more grip.
Used this opportunity to also do a little fix. Adding a thin layer of paper to the foam pressing the button layer to the controllers circuit board prevents from automatic and unintended button presses.
My two worlds collide, I did a speedrun of my own game
(no it's not actually a speed game but that didn't stop me from implementing a speedrun timer just because I wanted to)
Still have some days off and therefore will do more streams on Owncast this week, starting later this day with refurbishing and testing SNES and Game Boy games and taking care of some PlayStation controllers.
Yesterdays Metroid Dread stream I started with an explanation of the Early Screw Attack Glitchless trick.
Usually we need the Gravity Suit to get out of the water to reach the capsule containing the Screw Attack ability.
But by using some exploits we can get the item without yet having the suit.
