So long #Thunderbird, it was nice knowing you. But this is absolutely how you kill the brand.

For the rest of us that are sick of the bloatware that Thunderbird has become, may I humbly suggest you give #Evolution a try? (Especially if you run #Linux! And if you run Windows, it can run just fine in #WSL2 with an #Xserver.)

Seriously. I will never go back to Thunderbird. Not only does Evolution just work, but all the basics are just there without needing to add a bunch of add-ons.

@jdblair I have the one! Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball — it is symmetrical and suitable for left-handers.

For the left-handed configuration I have the next DE/WM-independent configuration in X-server's xorg.conf.d/

It uses a small button on the left as middle mouse button and a small button on the right for scrolling in all directions:
