Transport for London's #ULEZ scheme cleaned London's air:

Gas boilers now biggest source of #AirPollution in central #London, study shows

"The findings highlight the success of transport interventions, such as the London Low Emission Zone and the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), in significantly reducing #NOx emissions from vehicles."

In case you missed it, #TfL and the Mayor are consulting about the pedestrianisation of #OxfordStreet. It's been talked about for 30 years at least but maybe this time its serious - they even have a date 1 January 2026. Something to look forward to.
There's not much detail here - no mention of permeable paving, much additional green space, trees etc, parallel and perpendicular safe cycling route(s?)., nor of bus rerouting. So get your ideas in. haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/oxford-

Have Your Say Transport for LondonOxford Street TransformationThis public consultation – which will run from 28 February 2025 to 02 May 2025 - is about gathering your views on the proposed establishment of a new Mayoral Development Corporation to unlock the true potential of Oxford Street and deliver a world-class, safe,

First time through the newly opened #SilvertownTunnel and I wasn't the only one who wanted to be there on opening day. While #TfL claims it will ease congestion as the Blackwall tunnel suffers reliability issues, opponents say traffic will increase and the tolls won't be enough to discourage additional trips. For the sake of my lungs, I hope TfL are right but I'm not optimistic.

On the flip side the extended 129 bus line now has electric buses. They look quite boxy though.

#TfL's poorly implemented charging system tried to steal 3 pints worth of beer tokens off me last week! This is why if you use them you should regularly check that they've charged you correctly. It seems that if you only use buses they get it right, but if you use trains and tubes they screw up about one journey in 10. TfL's own website for calculating fares doesn't work either (presumably they don't want to make it easy to check for overcharging) but oysterfares.com/fare-finder/ does.

Looks like the #TfL "#cyber incident" leaked data is being put to use. I just got a very bogus looking prompt (through email) to log in and "reconfirm" my #Oyster entitlement, but the text portion of the email was missing inserted fields and the "login" link was not TfL. Be wary.

(And given some of the other, less visible, systems that were reputedly resident in the same infrastructure, there is good reason to be concerned.)

#Transport for #London (TfL) has had its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in line with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C limit. For the first time, #TfL has set targets across all areas of its business, aiming for a 90% emissions reduction by 2030.

TfL is transitioning to zero-emission vehicles, including over 1,900 of London’s 9,000 buses, and improving energy efficiency across its estate, with plans for solar farms and LED lighting. It aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewables by 2030.

TfL is also reducing carbon in construction, targeting low-carbon materials and emission-free deliveries by 2030. These efforts support London’s goal of becoming a carbon-neutral capital by 2030. The SBTi’s validation confirms TfL’s leadership in climate action.
