First, a fedizen turned me on to @radicle and I happen to be looking into various options for migrating off #GitHub . The resistance to #llm scraping is a bonus.
Thanks to #radicle , I got reacquainted with @zulip . It's not yet in my stable of community apps, and I have been hoping for an excuse to use it more regularly.
So far #zulip exceeds expectations as an upgrade from #Slack , IMHO.

Over the last six years, I've collected a lot of contacts in my Slack client, nicely collected in many groups so I knew who did who and who of a certain team was online. If you leave them under Direct Messages, they will be removed after a certain amount of time.

My account got disabled yesterday and finally enabled again late last night. I don't know why, but all my contacts were removed from the groups and put back back under Direct Messages.
