#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 16. How present is music in your work?

It depends on the story. Music plays a minor role in my WIP. In my novel series 'Everlasting Roaring Thunder', however, it plays a very important role. The coming of age novel is about five teenagers who struggle through first love, school and growing up, and who form their first band during all this time. Metal and Hard Rock are therefore always present in the story.

My new idea is to use Roman miles instead of imperial. They’re 1,479 km or thereabouts (it’s an approximation and wasn’t fixed anyway) so i can just round it to 1,5km. Easy to convert to sane measures.

Now i just need to find an imperial measurements user to impress/confound. “Oh, you don’t mean Roman miles? What empire are you referring to?”

Roman miles make more sense than using 996 and 9/16ths Rods or whatever a mile is based on.

[CHRONIQUE ROMAN]
