Dear #IoT #Lazyweb (esp Mr @fast_code_r_us) established wisdom (i..e 20 mins of googling and scrolling past the AI Lies) is that the ESP32-CAM camera module is too wimpy to generate native portrait-format JPEG's on-device (either by rotating them or adding magic metadata). Anyone know different?

If you wanted to build your own #localized #IoT #Android based #botnet for some reason, here's a good starting point.

Using #BLE to operate #MQTT is so countryside compound it almost makes me want to boobytrap my perimeter.

"You’ve probably heard of the internet of things, which is connectivity within everyday objects that can receive and send data. (Think smart TVs, dishwashers, fridges, cars, etc.) For Audubon Magazine, Ashley Stimpson reports on the internet of animals, offering five examples of bird species who, with small censors attached, can help humans learn more about weather patterns, protect whales from ship strikes, nab bird poachers, and more."

Ohai #Brisbane #BNE #IoT folks, the Brisbane IoT Meetup's regular "Sunday (mad) Science" afternoon learn-about-IoT event is on as usual this weekend (2nd sunday of each month)

This month I have a bunch of DIY solar power technology on the bench, as well as mountain of new home automation products. A couple of e-bike projects on the go too.

If you have a problem, a burning curiosity, a project that needs help, a broken appliance or just want a coffee and chat, come along Sunday 13th 1-4pm (1/14 Spine St Sumner Park, in western Brisbane).

Apple’s tvOS is now on version 18.4 with the product being around since 2007–that’s pre-iPhone era!!

It’s been out longer than it took for Disney to “reimagine” Star Wars!

Still, there’s little happening in land of tvOS app development.

Aside from apps by major streaming providers, how else are you using your Apple TV? What’s worth a mention?

Please drop your thoughts in the comments or boost for visibility. 👇
