Dear @Ric, it would be awesome if you could demonstrate a bit more due diligence and check out first the FAQ on the project website that address this common question:

eu-os.eu/faq#sovereignty

Currently, I wait for the numbers from #fedora. Rumours say that EU contributions would outweigh the US contributions. 🤷

Generally speaking, it strikes me how quickly also #FOSS advocates resort to protectionism. Doesn't this imply the believe FOSS is not granting enough freedoms?

It was all going so well with #Fedora until I connected my external monitor via USB C. It's absolutely will NOT stay connected. Works perfectly in Windows and MacOS, just plug an play. I'm about done with Linux, I think - I don't have time for this shit.

I like #Gnome, but sometimes I find it a bit unintuitive. I wanted to change my profile picture and had to go to Settings -> System -> Users -> Profile Picture. I have no idea about design stuff. Maybe that makes a lot of sense to hide the setting there.

But in the end you won't please anyone. That's why this post is not meant in a bad way.

Continuing with #Fedora and quite enjoying it. There are still some frustrations though:

- Fingerprint reader doesn't work very well.
- Auto screen dimming is horrendous - there's no smooth transitions and is very jarring (turned it off).
- LibreOffice is ugly AF. Replaced with OnlyOffice.
- I cant set a background on my login screen. It's just grey, which is a bit shit.

All small things though.

Besides welcoming our new, developing spin in the form of Fedora COSMIC Atomic, we had a few more updates from the Atomic Desktop side of the project.

The main change is the implementation of composefs which brings you "the reliability of disk images with the flexibility of files." This and many of the changes are under the hood to help keep the system stable while introducing more flexibility to users and maintainers.

We continue down the roadmap to bootc!
