It’s that time of year when the big, black carpenter bees are out looking for suitable places to burrow into to make nests. There’s a reason they’re called carpenter bees. And they’re loud, buzzing around looking big, bad and ominous. But YSK, you don’t have to worry. They are by nature docile, and very focused on their task at hand, so they’re gonna take their time and look at every nook and cranny. They may even buzz around your head momentarily, but don’t be alarmed, they’re just checking you out and will soon fly away. Whatever you do, don’t try to swat them away; that’s one of the few things that might make them aggressive. #spring #bees #insects #CountryLife #FarmLife #RuralLife #YSK #Advice

We run a small farm in the NC Piedmont. And today, we just set up … a Farm Log. :)

I made a table easel out of scrap wood, & on it now rests a notebook (Tsubame 100p B5) inside of a leather cover. Added a Lamy Al-star (Safari) fountain pen with Diamine 1864 Blue Black. We primed the log with a summary of farm, household, & personal happens from the last ten+ years.

Everything is set up next to the front door on an antique table. It's a really great idea. Everyone should do this. #farmlife
