Speaking at an event held by the think tank Chatham House on Thursday, the UK's Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds was interrupted by pro-Palestine protesters.
Referencing the death toll of Israel's renewed strikes on Gaza, now standing at roughly 830 over the past nine days, the demonstrators called on Reynolds to end the UK's export of F-35 parts to Israel.
F-35 fighter jets are used in Israel's air strike campaigns. They were notably omitted from the UK government's decision to suspend 30 out of 350 licenses for arms exports to Israel in September 2024, leading several activists to criticise the move as a large symbolic one.
The decision was made because it is illegal for the UK to export arms to a country that may use them to violate international humanitarian law. Support stories that matter."
