In #Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death," the Prince builds a wall to keep out the plague that is killing the poor people he doesn't care about. In his castle, his rich friends party except when the clock strikes the hour & they freeze, realizing that time has passed & they are one hour closer to death than they were.
Attacking public health (this idiotic freeze on #NIH) is an attack on everyone's health. #MAGA's too. No wall can keep out #cancer or #dementia. Vaccines & research sometimes can.

Earlier I saw an announcement that Canada is tracking the U.S. diseases...I expect it's in Canada 's national interest.
@godzero @CindyWeinstein Just a suggestion: Before the Renaissance started to open scientific enquirer, the so-called Dark Ages were a centuries-long period of unchallenged Christian dogma in Europe. There are some seriously screwy ideas floating around Project 2025. Want to bet that anti-science in the name of “faith” isn’t one of them?
