There is something very wrong in this country when six young people meeting to discuss politics in a Quaker Meeting House are arrested by the police after a mass (twenty officers) invasion of the building (armed with tasers).
The freedom to protest, or even the freedom to meet in a room to discuss current affairs, are central to a democracy... if this freedom is now compromised (further), as it seems to be, we are in a very bad place!

@ChrisMayLA6 I was so surprised I've signed-in to comment. I was talking with my son only yesterday about the Quakers. I know they hire their Houses out to the general public. How did the police know this group was meeting & what they discussed, I wonder? Did they spy on them on SM? What happened? It's been a long hard trek towards a police-state but - looking good for them now.
Yes, that's an interesting issue; what (who) tipped them off?
@ChrisMayLA6 The only other reference to it, that I've found so far, is in The Catholic Herald. Whatever it is, extraordinary to actually break into such a place.
@ChrisMayLA6 *Indi Catholic News, not the Herald
@ChrisMayLA6 Now I've found loads of references. Sounds like they were "on to" a known group they didn't like the look of.
Yes, I only saw it as @Thebratdragon posted the Quaker statement
@ChrisMayLA6 Yes, there's a lot going on lately!
