Emeritus Prof Christopher May

Amy Booker (Women's Budget Group) is right; to counter the appeal of the Far Right we (the country) needs to invest in care & welfare... bu building a fairer economy that everyone feels they have a stake in, the appeal of the Far Right is undermined.

However, this is a message to which the current Labour party leader(s) seem to be either wilfully deaf to, or positively reject.

@ChrisMayLA6 would you say professor that the people have to want to be included and be supportive of inclusive? Are we ignoring the fact it’s not just economic misery that leads people to extremism but their own biases?

@wjordan

Of course, people have diverse & varied views & some may well feel like that; the key to a system of inclusion is sufficient tolerance to allow them to 'enjoy' that feeling without that feeling corroding the tolerant & inclusive overall society - I accept never an easy trick to pull off completely
