I won't be the only person to draw a contrast between Labour's attitude to disability benefits (they are ineffective & need to be cut) and the impact of a new digital tax on major US technology groups (they are effective & therefore need to be cut)...

Yup, once again we have an example of sucking up & punching down - if this is what the Labour now regards as a reasonable moral trade-off, they're going to struggle to retain support from loyalists (and indeed many others!)

@ChrisMayLA6 we knew this from way back. Quite what the old socialist rearguard can do, I just don't know. Should have stormed the gates when we had a chance but rseholes like Galsworthy and Bray said hold fire. Culpable too they are.

@ChrisMayLA6
Yup.

And instead of using the tax as leverage, telling Trump that his Silicon Valley buddies will get an extra hit if he imposes tariffs on the UK we're going to rob the poor, the elderly and disabled people to make the techbros more comfortable and take the tariffs on the chin.

@ChrisMayLA6 the ultimate test will be the NHS waiting lists and the economy. Not sensed a big delta on these yet.

@ChrisMayLA6 ”Sucking up and punching down” should be New New Labour's tagline.
