Both UK Govt pronouncements & actions have raised the prospect that the UK is shifting to a policy posture (implied or possibly even explicit) of Military Keynesianism (and I have mentioned this a few times myself in the last ten days).

Here is a piece I have written for @NWBylines exploring the issue at more length & concluding, for MK to work as an economic stimulus the UK will need to quickly wean itself off a dependence on US arms imports.

North West Bylines | Powerful Citizen Journalism · Is the UK heading towards a Military Keynesianism?With the US planning to reduce military assistance in Europe, and the UK needing to improve its economy, is Military Keynesianism the answer?

@ChrisMayLA6 Ironically, this may lead to growth! We could build dual purpose devices than can be used for war and during peace time too. Drones spring to mind but also aircraft. Not sure how missiles could be repurposed though! #sustainability

@alex_p_roe

That would certainly be the lesson from the US Military-Industrial-complex

@ChrisMayLA6 we need to do that anyway. We will not be on the same side as the US in the next war, if there is one.
