This is the epitome of cool; a clicking rhythm track, a walking bass line & a brilliant vocal. There are other versions of Fever, but none that touch Peggy Lee's for its sublime cool. This stripped down sound makes a classic bit of timeless brilliance & poise. There really is nothing else like it! Two & half minutes of heaven!
@ChrisMayLA6 Lee is right up there with my favourite female vocalists. It is a shifting group but right now she is joined by Aretha Franklin and the wonderful Alison Moyet.
Yup Aretha is a special favourite of mine, and I do like Alison Moyet too, although I've not really followed her career
