The NYT did Malaviya dirty here without a direct quote from him about PRH's plans for AI, letting everyone assume the worst.
There's no context for the comment at all, so it's hard to tell what he actually said or meant by it. I highly doubt it's full-scale churning out of fake books, most likely "analysis" to ID potential bestsellers and churn out more digital marketing. Meh.
He seems like a nice guy, though, without the usual CEO ego.

Thanks to Kalen on Bluesky for the gift link (hopefully it carries over here), where Publishing Twitter seems to have landed and this article went mini-viral yesterday over the assumed AI plans. I normally avoid the NYT completely and this is one of the lesser reasons why.
