John Coltrane, Equinox

This classic (if lesser known) John Coltrane track is a great mix of (semi) avant-garde sax playing with a fabulous (latin-inspired) modal groove. Just relax into it and allow it take hold; it becomes quite mesmeric in its effect across its eight minutes. And if you're not sure you like jazz give this a play (right through) it might change your mind.

@ChrisMayLA6 Is the saxophone the bastard wild child that resulted from the love duet between a bassoon and a clarinet - perhaps after a threesome with an oboe?! Very moody track 🙂

@alexproe

Ha ha... almost certainly - Adolphe Sax would have wondered whether you were right about his invention

@ChrisMayLA6 Highly approved by the wife! She says thank you!
