Yesterday I heard #wikipedia may be banned in #India. It's one the biggest countries in #Wikimedia movement, India had the most (remote) participants in the #Wikimania 2024. I guess the banning is related to this: #Wikimediafoundation was asked to reveal an editor who had edited an article about ANI media company.

Wikipedia is giving away its volunteers' hard work and research efforts to train AI. It is an effort to fend off bot scrapers and reduce the strain on its servers — but to me it seems like that's not what most Creative Commons proponents have in mind when they sign on to help Wikipedia.

i didn't go through the entire article, but i made an edit on his english language wikipedia page, describing my edit:

"#SerhiyKorolyov is #Ukrainian. Sergei Korolev is the Russified version of this Ukrainian's name. His name should be recorded as it is spelled in his native land"
