Im Januar 1997 besuchte ich die Imagine 1997 Konferenz und Messe in Monte Carlo.
Und beim Stöbern in alten Photoalben hab ich nun auch die "Beweisfotos" gefunden.
Softimage 3D Version 3.7 kam raus und Silicon Graphics stellte u.a. die Octane und O2 vor.

Yeah, that's terrifying. 
I'm suddenly reminded of the [lava lamp] attachment/concept for the #sgi workstations (IIRC) that provided a robust PRNG seed.
Maybe now someone will sell a little sealed box that consists of an LCD screen, a webcam, and some film with Vaseline applied to provide non-computationally-reversible blur effects. XD
I stumbled upon an interesting blog today while searching for an image of the Silicon Graphics 3D cube logo. Named "Abort Retry Fail" by Bradford Morgan White, the blog's articles document computer history. I eventually wound up reading three of them.

Hello vintage computer friends... I have a lil SGI O2 workstation with a Dallas clock chip — it's the cheeky type of chip with an internal battery. I do Not Like This.
Are they known to leak? Do we remove the battery from the chip? Replace the chip with something else?

Roll over Beethoven - fired up the Indigo2 High Impact last night for the first time in a while.
This was absolutely mind-blowing in 1996 when the R10k Impact models came out.
If you were lucky, you'd have a 166MHz Pentium in your PC, and a 3dfx card, which was no comparison.
Does anybody know of a method to use a modern USB keyboard on a 1996 SGI O2? I am trying to save some desk space with a smaller keyboard. @flexion any insight or suggestions?
