@aburka understood; there are public datasets of transit data leading up to, through, and post-pandemic but i'm not qualified to have an opinion on revenue and what is needed to support commuters but this will hurt employers in the city, especially the ones that were strongly encouraged to Return To Office.

If you live in Southeastern Pennsylvania, SEPTA is planning on reducing service, based on the lack of funding, starting in August. There will also be a fare increase.

"Hearings on the operating budget are scheduled for May 19 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at SEPTA’s headquarters, as well as on May 20 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Hearings on the capital portion of the budget are scheduled for May 21 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m."

No regional rail after 9:00 pm.

Yes, this is the beginning of protracted negotiations, but SEPTA has been underfunded for a very long time.

Managed to take four new #trains today:

* Amtrak's Pennsylvanian
* SEPTA subway
* SEPTA trolley
* PATCO Speedline

Probably won't take the Pennsylvanian again since the seats were all backwards - I assume this is because it turns around in PHL to head west to PGH and that's the longer leg. NE Regional is frequent enough that I can avoid it if I'm just going down to Philly.

if I was the #phillymayor :
1) Only have sports parades down in the sports enclave in south philly, or only on weekends
2) Do not interfere with #SEPTA service - work on routes that minimize this.

It is literally impossible today to take a bus from east of Broad (e.g., Society Hill or Queen Village) to University City.

Shapiro diverts $153M to SEPTA from planned highway projects, avoiding extreme fare hikes and reductions in service until next summer. Republicans in PA senate continually fail to approve funding for SEPTA, want to source funds for critical transit agency from slot machines found in gas stations and bars.
