One of the ways I judge the #credibility of a #tech #professional is whether or not they use a #gmail account as their primary #email address. Two big problems in #IT that I don't see anyone trying to solve, and very few people even thinking about, let alone talking about:
1. a comprehensive set of #professional #standards regarding the #ethical operation, administration, moderation, and #oversight of public discussion forums.
2. a comprehensive set of professional standards regarding the ethical storage and transmission of personal #data and #information.
I don't think people even understand why these are #problems.

You fiddle with your banjo while the rat friends stare off into the distance. There are fish flying from the walls but I’m the only one that would notice this because I’m special, and you’re special, and you see the fish flying but you have to focus on your banjo. I start playin my banjo too, and we are suddenly the only noise in this moldy stuffy basement bar, a place your rich, fishless, peanut allergy and fish avoidant friends would explode in if they ever entered. I let the fish wander into my banjo, curious about the sound, and they start to make home in your banjo too. It’s like we’re married. Tonight’s the night we’re gonna do it.
