Well, I confirmed that the bizarro text at the top of the Y axis is not in fact part of the Y axis. If you set the style of the Y axis tick labels to plain, so it doesn't use scientific notation:

>>> plt.ticklabel_format(axis="y", style="plain")

... that one bizarro value is still shown in scientific format.

I don't recall if matplotlib supports multiple scales/sets of ticks on an axis, so I'm not sure where that value is coming from. I looked at the data generated by your code and didn't see anything weird.

I think you need either a matplotlib expert, or a user discussion group. Or at least someone who's used matplotlib more recently than the Clinton administration... 😉

Yesterday did go to the plot where I spent a couple of hours; cold killed all the black turtle beans.

Filled the feeders, am making a mix of bird food bags; watered the strawberry in the hanging basket; did a fire to get rid of wood and while at it, roasted me some raw coffee.

While waiting for the fire to catch, wrote a few notes on the subject of roasting. Coffee.

Bought by mistake a while ago, a small bag of raw coffee, decided to give it a go roasting on an open fire, using a steel pan and wooden spoon. Turned out quite all right, am having now one such coffee, fresh grind, with a cardamom pod ground in for good measure; a spoon of standard honey.

As I had no idea how to proceed, other than having had in time immemorial an actual hand held coffee roaster... granma stuff.... this time got it half wrong, because put in all the beans; quickly they started browning, quicker than expected, so that to give them at least a shade of brown, most beans are well roasted, black, in fact. Scent not as strong as the coffee beans bought in shops, as for caffeine kick.... a double! YAY!!

Freytag's Pyramid is a five-part structure for storytelling that helps writers create a story's narrative.

1. The "exposition" establishes the main characters.

2. The "rising action" builds tension by introducing new characters and obstacles.

3. The "climax" is the highest point of tension in the story.

4. The "falling action" is where the story releases tension and moves towards a resolution.

5. The "resolution" resolves the problem or conflict.

One thing that watching #anime has taught me, and I've breezed past 200 series at this point, none of my story ideas are close to unique. Every plot has been done a dozen times. It's the characters and how they combine with plot that matters, with the focused message we insert to be read between the lines being the thing that brings the light to the darkness. It's all that matters—other than not plagiarizing. If you are at all worried about uniqueness, stop. Hit your forehead with the heel of your palm. Sit. Write the dang thing until done. Then write something else.

(…) Netanyahu may see Trump’s arrival as a moment to take action against Iran, even taking out its #nuclear program. He could use the talks to take Trump’s temperature on a direct #strike, even as Iran’s nuclear ambitions appear to be accelerating.
Before Netanyahu arrived, Trump signed a directive authorizing a tough approach to Iran warning of “obliteration” should he be #assassinated by Tehran’s operatives.
Trump said he’d left directions for his team on how to respond should he fall prey to an Iranian assassination #plot.
“I’ve left instructions,” Trump said. “If they do it, they’ll be #obliterated.”

Does that sound familiar to anyone? 🤨

"...on the basis of his work with military contractors that the country is in a three-stage campaign leading first to breakdown of social order and resulting in a coup d'état or civil war."
(quote: "leave the world behind" movie)

- Isolate the country
- Control digital infrastructure
- Confuse and terrorise citizens (propaganda and attacks)
- Coup
(...Civil war?)
