We demanded an unarmed Portland Street Response, to deal with public nuisances and people in crises, so the cops won't kill so many people. The old City Council dragged their feet underfunded it, tried every bureaucratic trick to kill it

We defeated the Columbia River Crossing, highway expansion/bridge to Washington. Now ODOT are back with a plan to spend billions called the Interstate Bridge Replacement, but you can still see where CRC has been crossed out and the new name written in.

We decriminalized drugs, then the wealthy and their cops camped out in the legislature until they were re-criminalized.

Seems to me we've got a problem with a lack of democracy in Oregon.

#PDX folks!

Councilor Morillo (who is rad) has an ordinance banning algorithmic rent price fixing that’s moving to full council on April 2nd (this Wednesday)

Different ways to help (via an email from the councilor’s team):

1️⃣ Sign up for public testimony (2-minute speaking slots)

🌐 portland.gov/council-clerk/tes

2️⃣ Submit written testimony in favor of the ordinance

🌐 portland.gov/auditor/council-c

also: I didn’t realize the new streetcars were… new?

I thought they were just retrofitted

but no, it’s all new and shiny!

was blessed with a new streetcar this morning!

signage so good, more seats better laid out (at 6’2”, I can fit in the single seats!), chimes at each stop adorable
