In my new interview with author Premee Mohamed, she explains how her collection of dark fantasy novelettes and a novella, "One Message Remains" came together, as well as why they share the same secondary world.

UTTERLY RIVETING METATHRILLER will keep you in suspense and set you to pondering. Beautifully done, magnificently concise riff on literary stagnation and aspiration. A MINUS

Algernon Blackwood's novella "The Man Whom the Trees Loved" is an astonishingly queer story of nature and loss.

A DEFT, SHARP FABLE that could not be more timely. In a world where everything is decided by vote, what does democracy mean? Clever riff on Borges and Jackson stands on its own merits as well. B PLUS

We are a small press based in Seattle, Washington. We publish mostly brief books (or sometimes larger books made up of brief texts), often in translation. #Poetry, #novellas, #shortstories, from the 16th century to contemporary authors. Our editor-in-chief is @joshuarothes
I’m curious if anyone here has recommendations of short #novels or #novellas that might fit in the mini-#epic genre—#books that one can finish in a sitting or two yet have a grand sweep. Denis Johnson’s Train Dreams and Willa Cather’s A Lost Lady come to my mind. Both set against the closing of the American frontier, Johnson’s book is the more conventionally epic #novel, while Cather’s drawing room settings belie its extraordinary scope.
