Still need a lot of practice with it… it's really uneven right now. Greys for Racial Ambiguity 🎹Made this needlepoint over 20 years ago from a 16-color gif rendition using my partner's yarn remnants. I found it again while cleaning the garage and figured I may as well finally dust it off and give it a proper frame treatment. Checked the tools, the tread shades. I found a way to match DMC shades to the original and to highlight the area I'm going to sew with a certain shade.Goal: not buy anything for this project, at least in the first half. I should have enough stuff in the house.Two problems: 1) transfer highlighted area to fabric at points in time, 2) eyesight, not as good as it used to be. Gotta magnify now. And have good light.

Discovered that my initial estimation was too big, scaled down, printed, stitched again on the window..Had to move the template from the window; I moved onto a self-healing mat (quilting), and also supported that on a huge clipboard (drawing/painting)...

I'm gonna transfer the contours on the canvas and then wing it with the colors.Soooo excited!!While I was fussing with that my youngest had a friend over and they were busy drawing cards (after I relieved them of screens). It was a nice feeling of beehive in the house..

Should have more layers of paint. But did not pass the exam. Later in life she was painting these custom needlepoint patterns for her work colleagues. It was so nice to have her painting in the house in the afternoons...
