Click & Grow has released a new lighting kit to upgrade their 9-plant model.

It allows you to add a second row of lights.

My plants in my Click & Grow have never thrived, even when I've added plant food, hydrogen peroxide, and an aquarium air pump. I'm tempted to get the upgrade kit but it's not cheap.

Has anyone here tried it yet? What do you make of it?

My hydroponics don't yet yield much in the way of food (I'm still learning) but they give me a lot of joy.

I can buy food but I can't buy joy, so I call this a success.

I put my 3d printed hydroponics tower into operation with some pre-grown salad. I hope that the nights won’t be too cold anymore. In six weeks or so there will be the first harvest, hopefully! #hydroponics #gardening #3dprinting

OK, wild. Our lettuce/kale seeds in the starter trays are germinating *after two days*. The packets suggest that it would be 7-14 days at least.

Something neat happening in my hometown. Apparently vertical greenhouses can produce "10 to 20 times as much leafy greens as a traditional farm."

I did it! I moved my #IcePlant to a #Kratky pot (1l juice jar, covered in a black sock) with a 0.1 M NaCl solution. I am now growing, or attempting to grow, a plant in salt water.

I even managed to find yet another sock with a hole in the toe that I saved in the confidence I would find a use for it.

This is pinnacle mad scientist. My (space station) life has peaked.

I am so excited to see how my little plant fares! 3/n
