Yes: respond to #USA breach of trade deals (imposition of import tarriffs), by revoking #Monopoly #Patent and #Copyright for #USA corporations, to the benefit of one's own country.

#IntellectualTheft (monopolies on culture) keeps medicine from the poor, keeps education from the needy, keeps science from those who will benefit. Now the trade deals are violated, no need to continue protecting USA #Corporation #rentier profits.

This is a great idea, I would love to see #Australia do this also.

Ironically, this article arguing for the social benefits of free use of information, is not on the open web (it's locked behind a login-wall).

#GoodNews from a #corporation for once, given the trend of "you don't really #own it and we'll take it off you when we want"

" #WarnerBros Home Entertainment is aware of potential issues affecting select #DVD ... Where possible, the defective discs have been #replaced with the same title. However, as some of the affected titles are no longer in print or the rights have expired, #consumers have been offered an #exchange for a title of like-value"

JoBlo · Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don't work anymore; UPDATED with response from WBDue to the way WB manufactured their DVDs, virtually all discs pressed between 2006-8 are unplayable now.

Aotearoa (New Zealand) grants Taranaki Maunga mountain personhood.

In the US, White Earth Band of Ojibwe recognized the rights of manoomin (wild rice).

More than fair, given that governments have granted corporations personhood.

And the US treats money as speech, presumably because right-wing Supreme Court justices got their hands on a dictionary and found proof it's alive: "Money talks".

Woolworths getting the so called Fair Work Commission to say picketing is "undermining" the union's bargaining position shows how corporations have far too much power in Australia.

People need to stop voting for the major parties, we're not the USA other parties can gain power here, there's no such thing as a wasted vote.

Everyone everywhere support your unions.

Oh Great! /s Now the Toronto Star has joined the chorus amplifying BKsy with free advertising

I wonder if they realize investors are confusing the Social media platform with the Canadian crypocurrency company.

Ok y'all...if you are an #indi #contractor who uses a business tax ID, or a business owner with an #LLC, #S_corp or registered #corporation...did you realize there's a whole bunch of filing you need to do before the end of the year, lest you start facing $500 a day fines?

I hadn't paid attention when the #CorporateTransparencyAct was passed, because it was immediately challenged.

Basically, if you are a small business with less than millions of dollars in revenue, you need to report the names, home addresses and upload photo IDs of "beneficial owners" to #FinCEN (Treasury Department).

Public, large, high earning companies are exempt. It's just contractors and small business under 20 employees. People, police and governments can request data from the government via FinCEN.

(Edit to add: This does not impact 1099s, unless you registered your DBA with the SoS in your state.)

"The Problem with Mass-Produced ‘Urban Solutions’
Geographer Rachel Bok investigates the deep-pocketed players setting the agenda for the future of cities."
"hey are hosted by deep-pocketed multinationals like Shell and philanthropic organizations like Bloomberg and Rockefeller, but also global groups like the United Nations and the World Bank. They’ve attracted financial institutions, consultancies, think tanks and corporations — tech giants in particular — each with their own visions of how cities should be shaped."

Thanks @sethmlarson for committing to make #FreeSoftware #Python volunteer maintainers lives easier.

I'm sadly shocked, though, that PEP 761 lauds dependence on #platform providers out of our control (Google, GitHub, etc.) as some improvement? Have we not learned that we need #community control of our identity, not #corporation platforms?

#ProtocolsNotPlatforms is a necessary part of divesting centralised power over our #SoftwareFreedom. Vesting yet more control in Microsoft is not the way.
