Because our cat Teddy must stay on a special prescription diet from now on, the easy free-feeding routine of all three cats has come to an end. It was fun while it lasted.
The unintended but welcome outcome of the new regime has meant that our very overweight 12 year old red 18-lb lovey-boy Rufus has not had his prior unlimited access to dry food for the past two months.
I noticed he looked a bit less rotund this week, so i weighed him... one pound lost! He's now 17 lbs, at last after much complaining over weeks.
That's a major victory and I can actually see that he looks better. I think his ideal weight would be around 15 lbs. Poor thing is not very happy about the new routine though. #catsofmastodon #cats

I had to jump the fence & to retrieve a cat
