Looks like good pollination on the apricot tree even though I'll probably remove all but a few if they set.

Three years ago, we found a tiny apricot tree sprouted from a kernel in the compost heap.
Planted it and cared for it. it now has its first fruit, about five little apricots!

This year's count of new oak trees from acorns hidden by squirrels is 12. Will be potted and given away next year when they can survive on their own.

Grape vine cutting has roots & leaves. By one, get many free, .

First lavender is in full bloom. Lots of bees enjoying it. Pic later.

Apricot (杏)-
Ume ('prunus mume') are commonly known as 'plum' in English, but in reality they are related to both the plum and apricot families, so it's probably easier to call them by their Japanese name.

Apricot trees, 'anzu' (杏) in Japanese, are a far rarer sight.

A beautiful red and blue yokan jelly flavoured with apricot.

This pretty pink plum blossom said hello as we walked by it this morning. With no worries, it’s looking perfect, serene in its simplicity. It will be fine.

In this chaotic world, it’s refreshing to find something so pure and peaceful. Even amid turmoil, beauty and hope can be found.

The fruit #apricot took an incredible journey around the Mediterranean: starting from #Latin, it traveled to #Greek, then made its way into #Arabic, was later adopted by #Catalan, and finally borrowed into #English. What a traveller!
