In case you didn't realize it, the economic uncertainty this group of pissants is causing here in the US is hitting hard. As a musician, the places I play regularly are venues that bring me in as added value. I hold the crowds, they buy more food and drink, and everyone is happy. I've been working since January to fill my 2025 calendar (something that hasn't been a problem in the past) and I can't get through to anybody. It's like screaming into a void.

My guess is that venues feel they can no longer afford "added-value" extras. A few have told me they have cut back on music, or cut it totally.

So yeah, as I feared all last year, it's looking like my livelihood is also on the block. I'm furious at red voters, and even more angry with the blue voters who stayed home because they felt this was the time to take a stand or whatever. Y'all shot us in the knees, and I'm not going to forget it.

Anyone looking for an accessible singer/songwriter with a good sense of humor and an uncanny ability to read a crowd?

Are you ever in a bad mood for now reason at all? I think it happens to all of us. When it happens to me, I usually just get quiet and mope around, but when I'm like that is not a good time to accidently bump into me.

My mother made me a Dammit Doll—a simple creation crafted from a couple of pieces of cloth, stuffed and sewn together, with buttons for eyes, yarn for hair, and a ribbon with a bell attached. A 3x5 card is tied to the ribbon, featuring these words:

"When you feel you want to throw the phone or kick the desk and shout. Here's a little dammit doll you cannot do without. Just grab it by its legs and find a place to slam it. And as you whack the stuffing out. Yell dammit, dammit, dammit."

Five pages written today. I had a lot of fun and this standalone script should be finished in a few days. My anger seems to have dissipated. I'm honestly not sure what bug was up my ass yesterday. But I can only conclude that my rage merely reflects the general state of living in 2025 America.

I just had some douchebag on the subway try and knock my book out of my hands with a hard slap. Ten years ago, there was a chance that I would have beat this guy to a pulp for such an act. But today? I let him go. I have worked very hard to be less angry. It helped that a fellow Brooklynite sitting next to me started cracking jokes. And the two of us laughed over this.

Nevertheless I'm still stunned that this punk didn't faze me at all. Apparently I have matured quite a bit.
