Tiens, Meta propose un chatbot dans #WhatsApp. Bon, ça pourrait servir à retrouver une info dans une conversation. Et bah non, c’est de la merde. 🚮

Ich lese, dass jetzt alle #WhatsApp, #instagram und #Facebook löschen und frage mich dann, warum jetzt?

Meta verstößt immer schon gegen die DSGVO und sämtliche Kontakte aus Adressbüchern werden an Meta übermittelt, auch wenn die Kontakte gar nicht bei Meta sind.
Die Nutzenden bestätigen, dass alle Kontakte einverstanden sind und das hat wohl niemand nachgefragt! Also macht man sich strafbar!

Das war für mich immer der Grund, diese Apps nicht zu benutzen und ich habe sie nie gebraucht.

So suddenly, WhatsApp has this AI button on my screen. WhatsApp is the only Meta app i still have installed. I have successfully de Googled and deleted Facebook but unfortunately still need to use WhatsApp for other reasons which are beyond my control.

what does this AI button do exactly? Is it automatically on? Does anyone know if i can opt out of this?

@bullivant #signal is certainly a good alternative to #whatsapp .But one should not forget that it is a centralized, closed system. Who says it won't develop negatively one day? You're moving from one walled garden to another. The dependence on one provider remains. Therefore, in my opinion, decentralized solutions are the better alternative, also with regard to blocking and censorship. I use #deltachat and can only recommend everyone to give it a try.

@MBrandtner Ich habe da keinen Vergleich, als es mit #plattformkapitalismus anstrengend wurde, hatte ich bereits Kinder. Ich denke aber schon, dass man als Eltern manchmal noch mehr Druck ausgesetzt ist. Trotzdem kann man seine Ansichten vertreten, wenn es einem wichtig ist. Manchmal muss man z.B. einmal mehr daran erinnern, dass vermeintliche Erleichterungen wie eine #whatsapp bedeuten koennen, dass man denen Bescheid sagen muss, die das nicht nutzen. Das braucht manchmal Geduld, aber wenn niemand solche Probleme anspricht, hat ja auch keiner die Chance, Loesungen zu finden.

Ich weiss nicht, ob es bei abhaengigen Beschaeftigungsverhaeltnissen mitunter sogar noch schwieriger sein kann. Da spielt ja oft noch ein Machtgefaelle mit hinein.
