Corporate Media Minimize Massive Hands Off! Protests
fair.org/home/corporate-media-

"many major #media outlets seemed intent on downplaying the size and significance of the massive demonstration of opposition.

...organizers estimate the total reached into the millions...

Despite the scale and significance of the protests, neither the #NewYorkTimes nor the #WashingtonPost had stories about them on their front pages the next day."

click.actionnetwork.orgMedia companies must stand up for free speechRight now, major media giants are rolling over for Trump and his billionaire allies – choosing profit over speaking truth to power: - CBS is preparing to settle Trump’s baseless $20 billion lawsuit against them – reportedly to help win his administration’s approval for a corporate merger. - ABC recently handed Trump $16 million in a lawsuit settlement rather than standing firm against his bullying. - And now, The Washington Post is showing a disturbing willingness to protect billionaire elites instead of defending press freedom. I just signed a Common Cause petition urging these media companies to stand up for free speech and hold the powerful accountable, not bow to them. I hope that you will take action, too.

Margaret Sullivan says she asked friends and relatives in various locations what kind of reporing their local media did about the massive worldwide protests Saturday against Trump:

"Quick answer: Not close to what it deserved."

Then she did her own research, and found:

"In the Wall Street Journal, the story’s placement was the 20th most important."

American Crisis · Big protests — but not big newsBy Margaret Sullivan

If #Bezos or his ilk owned #WashingtonPost back in the #Nixon era, Nixon would have never resigned. The reporting on #Watergate would have been in the DC Metro page and hardly anyone would have noticed.

Same today with the #HandsOff protests, closeup photos not showing anywhere near the massive number of people or the huge banners they brought with them.

What a piece of shit he is.
