Continued thread
In the evening, I ambled along the South Bank to the National Theatre (a building I adore spending time in) to see Jack Thorne's new play, The Motive And The Cue.
It's a compelling account of the fractious rehearsals for the 1964 Gielgud/Burton Broadway production of Hamlet. It's a love letter to the art of theatremaking (Time Out describes that phrase as "wanky" but it's true) and Mark Gatiss is particularly moving as John Gielgud.
