Last time I taught this there was a tension around his use of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Klein" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Klein</a> positions. The paranoid-schizoid position is often seen as a defence against anxiety generated by the aggressive/death drive. The term p-s itself emphasises defences of splitting and projection.
