Rather than worry why leaders step-back from leadership roles when they find (as said) they 'no longer [have] enough in the tank', the real problem is male leaders who arrogantly carry on even when they are way off the top of their game.... still, as always, easier to blame the women, I guess.... just more discrimination playing out

The Guardian After Ardern, Marin and Sturgeon, is female representation in politics going backwards?By Jonathan Yerushalmy

So as the rumours & conjectures will undoubtedly circulate, we'd be better celebrating 's decision to step down... following she has decided that the costs exacted by frontline have become to high, and now is the time to quit while she remains healthy & mentally stable.

Frankly, rather than commentators hinting she 'couldn't hack it' we'd be better off if more tired male stepped down, rather than waiting for events/opinion to force them out!

So its goodbye to the ground-breaking PM who has decided to quit after concluding she doesn't have the energy to continue in the role.

Once again she shows her humanity, resisting the siren call of a political career that would finally chew her up!

For me this further strengthens her claim to be a beacon of good sense & responsible !

I hope she can now find another role where she can further develop her ideas on how society should be.
