From album five, The Serfville Monad Talk with Fate, a song about a flood, Levee Seven.

The rain will stop; people will come
So-called leaders and those famous-fors
They come to pity, they come to be gone
‘Cause water hazards wreck golf scores

Levee six is gonna be rebuilt
And there’s loans for all the folks of Campton
All we had is now downstream
So seek you me in the mud that was Levee Seven

InstagramLeon Vynehall on Instagram: "MY NEW LP – IN DAYTONA YELLOW – OUT SEP 19TH I've been waiting for what feels like an eternity to say that the first single, 'Mirror's Edge' with @poisonannaworld from my new album, 'In Daytona Yellow,' is out today. At the end of 2022, I began to write and plant the seeds of what would become this record. My last LP 'Rare, Forever' was an exercise in trying to get a sense of who I was and my place in the world—looking at how I viewed myself and my work and, in turn, how I believed I was perceived. The catalyst was a sort of spiritual identity crisis when I turned 30. Once I had pulled that thread long enough, 'In Daytona Yellow' followed. In its essence, it is the embracing of vulnerability, the rejection of perfection, and the powers that come from doing so. For the first time in my work, I'm using my own voice and lyricism front and centre. I'm also collaborating with other singers and artists, including @jeshi__ @__tyson @beaunox @kenzie.tth and @chartreuse multi-instrumentalist @harvey_dweller and string arranger @amylangleycello. There are songs on this album where I say goodbye to former versions of myself and welcome who I am now. There are others where I dote on the harsh inner critic and wonder why it can be so difficult to find any compassion for yourself at times. Mirror's Edge is about the duality between self-loathing and self-love - ego sex and ego death - and the thin line on the edge of narcissism, or more appropriately, a fleeting vanity, in the middle. Throughout the process of writing, I kept Leonard Cohen's verse from 'Anthem' by my side as a mantra - "Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack, a crack in everything, that is how the light gets in." In Daytona Yellow is that light, and this is me, with all that is both beautiful and undesirable, stepping into it. Pre-save the LP and listen to Mirror's Edge at the usual links The peerless director @youngreplicant and DOP @dustinlane created this incredible visualiser starring @manu.tavadze and me to accompany the song.
