Appropriately, we saw another <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/MidwestEmo?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MidwestEmo</a> band, the Get Up Kids, playing a 25th anniversary show for their second LP, Something to Write Home About. Fellow <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/emo?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#emo</a> vets Hot Rod Circuit opened. The place was packed with 50-year-old white boys wearing 20-year-old black t-shirts – among those I saw were Face to Face, The Used, Alkaline Trio, Saves the Day, Jimmy Eat World, The Early November, Something Corporate, Death Cab For Cutie, Hot Water Music, Coheed & Cambria, and self-titled era Blink-182. I had on Teenage Halloween because I'm a poser.<br>
