I repainted the colors of this oil painting today because the previous shades (you can see it in an older post here) started to feel wrong. They reflected my emotional state at the time, but I also want to strongly bring out the feeling of hope in my paintings; Hopefully it is more visible here, but the message of the artwork is the same: An old woman wondering the state of the world... Stay safe! 🕊️

A small oil painting on wood (with a layer of varnish on top) titled "I like chocolate and wrestling". The work reflects girlhood, growing up as a young woman in our time, when the most important thing is to listen to your inner self and live a life that is your own without trying to fulfill the ideas and guidelines of society and various political/extremist/religious movements/groups about what life "should really be like and what a woman's role is in society", I think.

As an aging woman, I say calmly, be and live exactly as you want. If you want to change something, do it. If you still gather courage, strengthen yourself in peace. If everything is fine just like this, you have already come a long way.

Everything has its time and place, I think. And even though the world is now in transition, I believe that the voice of reason, justice and truth will win, because it has the most supporters in the world. ✌️🎀

So interesting to watch the remains of #Murnau's German #expressionist period in this first of his Hollywood master art works! What a waste of talent, when he died in a carcrash in 1931 (aged 42).

If this is not a story about the strength of love, than which one is? I do wonder if the premisse would be 'digged' nowadays. But that does not take the edge off the ingeneous camera visuals, great acting (Janet Gaynor tops it) ànd storywise dramatic impact of #Sunrise..

Here is a bit of an edit of one of the pictures taken of my piece, showcasing the light of the wall lamps in the exact spot where the eyes of the figure making it look like they're glowing. Knowing this, I ended up doing a bunch of edits on my phone to enhance the effect and make it more moody.
