fren has become obsessed w alone —- ALL the aloneses — on SBS, so i’ve cancelled #DisneyPlus. it was never really my cappuccino. marvel stories are mostly sexist (jessica jones as originally on netflix was brilliant) and i don’t much care for the animated stuff.
there was one really good show about missing Indigenous women in alaska and it was scrapped just before the actor’s strike. i think management shit themselves that someone woke had infiltrated their organisation.

only 2 years ago ? it was $10.99 pcm now it’s 20.99 or summit —
seems to be subsidising the promotion of US sport, and i don’t even like sport in australia.

I presume the pew pew escapist elements have been added due to studio (autocorrect wanted "stupid", and it's not wrong) pressure to add more action given the initial lack of enthusiasm and appreciation for the greatness of season 1 from the typical toxic fanboys (emphasis on boys, lacking emotional maturity despite their ages).

It would be sad if much or most of the raves from those who've seen all of season 2 is based on pew pew, and not on story and acting.

After watching a few videos reviewing the first three episodes, the consensus among them regarding the escape in episode 1 was it great to them because it brings back "Star Wars fun", as one stated.

For me, that's exactly the element in the first two episodes I hate, and have always hated about the franchise in general.

That's the childish, white male escapism Lucas based the stories upon, harking back to his childhood watching serials in the theater.

"How nice for you"

While the first two episodes of season 2 of Andor are much too similar to the simplistic, main character as near superhuman escaping impossible situations of the rest of the franchise, the third episode returns fully to grounded realism.

There were good elements in the first two episodes, but too much emphasis on being pew pew fantastical like the rest of the franchise outside of this series.

I'm hopeful, though, after episode 3.
