:nfld_tri: 🇨🇦 CowMan 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 🇲🇽<p>Finished up tweaking the power settings for the i7-14700k in the new server. </p><p>Typical load reports 31 package watts, light load on just e-cores that drops to 7-8 watts. With PL2 @ 100w, max temps are 53C.</p><p>P-cores can see 6.0 ghz, typ. 5.8 ghz, w/e-cores peak 4.0 and typ. 3.2. :nfld_tri: 🇨🇦 CowMan 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 🇲🇽<p>Added an RGB strip to the server project. It exactly fits, as in both VRM cooler and CPU heat sink are in contact with it. Shifted the CPU fan to also sit on the edge of the VRM heatsink. Adjusted the load line thing.</p><p>The 40mm fans kept sucking in the foam and stopping. Tried to space them with fiber washers but wasn't effective. :nfld_tri: 🇨🇦 CowMan 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 🇲🇽<p>After bringing the new server (<a href="https://nfld.me/tags/CowServer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CowServer</span></a>) online, joined it to the existing to make a <a href="https://nfld.me/tags/Proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Proxmox</span></a> cluster, then remembered something...</p><p>Couldn't really turn it off, the cluster would lose quorum. Well, can set a machine to two votes, 'two_node' to on, it does work that way.</p><p>But not well, been down this road before ;P</p><p>Added a cheap little <a href="https://nfld.me/tags/N100" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>N100</span></a> box from Beelink as a third node - good for that critical third vote, and unlike a qdevice, can also run some little things (pihole's).</p>

Put some tesa tape along the PSU edges to prevent scratches and help seal the PSU from the main area. </p><p>Can hardly see the fan twist ties from the outside so this will work.</p><p>Cables might a problem, much longer than needed. I lost the power button caps. Grr.</p><p>These 40mm are not the greatest air movers, but in a small case, every bit helps I figures. There is just enough space to fit four across the front. It fits rather well though the drive bay... water cooling this 2U, mad max style, totally plausible. So tempted.</p><p>Instead though, going with a pair of 40x10 and a pair of 40x20 fans across the top. It no longer comes in black, but that is now fixed.
